Tanna Sunsets

Power is available 24 hours a day. We have an onsite restaurant and serve delicious fresh fruit breakfasts. We can organize activities such as horse riding, snorkeling and treking for you. We speak French and English.

We have four all-naturally constructed bungalows for guest use. We have bungalows with shared bathroom facilities or with private bathroom, if preferred. Rooms are cleaned daily and grounds are kept tidy by your host, Hellen. The bungalows were made to get good ventilation and sea breezes and beds all have mosquito nets. They also each have verandahs from which to enjoy the nightly spectacular sunsets we have here in Tanna. We have not had much opportunity to travel to many other places but we’re told our sunsets are the best in Vanuatu!

Sustainability

At Sunset Beach Guesthouse we are making an effort to develop a sustainable business and use this opportunity to provide economic benefit to our community. As the business is 100% NiVanuatu- owned, there is no leakage and revenue generated is 100% circulated through the local village and other local businesses. We also provide employment for recent school-leavers who really don’t have many other opportunities for work in Tanna.

We have an utmost respect for the local culture and the environment which we believe is evident when you come to visit. The bungalows were all built with local labor and local, all-natural materials. We used bamboo, Natangora Palm fronds and Coconut Palm leaves to construct the walls, matting and roofs of the bungalows as well as Panduanus leaves for other items requiring a tight weave like bags and floor mats.

Food here is all organic and locally-grown. Cows are also fed an all-organic diet so our beef is all-natural. Fish and lobster is caught fresh from our local waters. Just as a side note, however, the NiVanuatu will often try to cook to their idea of the Westerners expectations so if you want the fresh natural flavours please let our cooks know in advance not to use any flavor additives.
